The History of Red Dwarf
In 1988 two fellows, Robert Grant and Douglas Naylor created a story. It was about this sleasy,
piggish, bum, David Lister. He was caught out in space. They thought, "This would be a great sci-fi television show!" They confronted the British Broadcasting Corperation and they accepted the show Soon after, a series was made. Ever since, the show has been very popular amung many people all around the world. Red Dawrf begins like this...
"This is an S.O.S. distress call from the mining ship Red Dwarf. The crew are dead, killed by a radiation leak. The only survivors are Dave Lister, who was in suspended animation during the disaster, and his pregnant cat, who was safely sealed in the hold. Revived three million years later, Lister's only companions are a life-form who evolved from his cat, and Arnold Rimmer, a hologram simulation of one of the dead crew."
From this, many episodes have branched off. As well, a book series (where the books aren't really in a particular order) has branched off as well. Red Dwarf has grown to be some what of a *cult* show. That is if a show can be the source of a cult.
