Episode Summary: Lister joins the "Canaries," not realizing they are a battle hardened convict army trained to go on suicide missions.

My Thoughts on this episode... This episode was mostly humor. Really the only serious part was when Rimmer was predicted to die. I was laughing almost constantly. It was pretty funny how Lister learned from Rimmer what the "Canaries" were, and then revealed that he had signed up everyone! Funny Things Rimmer -- Lister -- Kryten -- Cat Rimmer He said, "I had absolutely nothing and I threw it away!" . "Ahh, the canaries, ya know what they say it's supposed to stand for? Convict Army Nearly Retarded In-red Evil Sheep-shagers." . He was conducting the others signing '...you are the light of my life...' during a canary mission. . When the crew is having coffee Lister says, "The future's already decided; there's no changin'." Rimmer repeats, "So you're saying the future's the future and, like your underpants, the chances of change are remote." . When Arnold is trying to make someone else 'Rimmer' so they die and not him, Mr. Knott calls him 'Rimmer' and he blurts out, "Don't call me Rimmer!" Knott replies, "That's your name." Arnold explains by saying, "Yes, but Rimmer is so full of nobility and quiet courage. Call me ass wipe or fish breathe." . After Knott dies Rimmer celebrates only to find that he still dies. He tells Cassandra that he doesn't believe it. She says, "I've seen pictures of it." Rimmer comes back with, "That's as well as maybe, but have you seen this?" Then he flicks her off. . He was perfectly fine that he would die from Lister shooting him in the head finding him with Chris. . When the water pipe sprayed Chris she angrily stated, "My clothes are soaking!" Then Rimmer suggested, "Why don't you take them off?" . When Lister came in he didn't kill Rimmer because that wasn't really the future, Cassandra was trying to make it happen. Lister said that Kryten figured that our and Rimmer said, "Kryten figured it out, did he? Good 'ole Kryten! Did he have to figure it out so damn fast?! Would it of killed him to wait a half hour? Ten minutes atleast...two minutes would be good!" Lister He said to Rimmer, "When I'm in the men's toilets in prison, I tend not to look around, ya know what I'm sayin'? It's like playing golf. I concentrate on my grip, keep my eye on the ball, and try not to veer off to the side!" . He just told Cassandra that he wasn't going to kill her, stuck his gum on the wall and went out the doorway. Well, his gum fell of the wall and caused the domino effect with various things. It ended up that water spilled on a cord and Cassandra had a spark-flying death. . Kryten In the abandoned ship, Rimmer cried, "What is that?! It's moving!" Kryten replied, "I think that's your shadow, sir." . Rimmer asked Cassandra how Lister dies. She said he dies at age 183 choking after trying to take a bra off with his teeth. Lister replied, "That's a hell of a sexy way to go!" Kryten added, "As long as the teeth are in your mouth at the time, sir." . Kryten tells his theory and Cat complements, "That's brilliant! How'd you figure that out?" Kryten replied, "I read it on this mission directive, here." . They discover that someone who doesn't know enough to know that they don't know enough allows them to uncover things a more intelligent person couldn't, the power of ignorance. Kryten says, "With the ignorance he's (Rimmer) got, would make him one of the most powerful men who ever lived!" Then he encouraged Rimmer by chanting, "Harness your stupidity, employ your wittlessness, use your empty headed simplistic moron mind and find a solution!" Cat When Rimmer is sad about dying, Cat says, "You dying is the last thing we want. Especially me. Hell, I'll probably have to help dig the hole!" . Cat smacked Lister in the head and Lister cried, "What'd you do that for?" Cat then explained, "You can't die!" Lister added, "Yeah, but I still feel pain, ya smegger!" . Cat and the others are escorting Rimmer to a safe spot by all four of the garunteeds-to-live canaries surrounding Rimmer like body gaurds. When they reach their destination, they relize they lost Rimmer somewhere. Holly He found out how Lister could serve his prison time of two years in only 14 weeks... ...become a dog. Cassandra She said, "The whole crew will be dead in one hour, except for Rimmer." Rimmer yelled, "YES!" Cassandra came back with, "You'll be dead in twenty minutes." . Lister asked how Rimmer dies. Cassandra told them, "Rimmer dies of a heart attack brought on by the stress of knowing he's going to die." Cassandra caused his death by saying he was going to die. Kill Crazy (from the canaries) He yelled, "Lets go kill somethin'! YEEEEAAAAAAAHHH!" Then realized he had fallen behind the group. . He hit his head and was knocked unconscious when the troop was going on their first mission.

Best Role This guys humor and dull-witted mind made this show a lot more enjoyable. With his funny side comments and his attitude changes this episode's best role goes to.... you guessed it! Arnold J. Rimmer! Rimmer, we give you a long, long solute! (referring to episode 'Back in the Red' Part 2 of 3)

My Rating ****1/2 I give 'Cassandra' 4 1/2 out of 5. Very good episode and great humor.
